The music starts at 10 with Chuck Collins playing the best oldies from the 60's to the mid 80's. 1590 WAKR was there from the very beginning of pop music on the radio and we are committed to keeping this uniquely American art form on the air!

Bobbi - Weekdays 3 - 7pm and Saturday Morning producer/co-host

Bobbi is someone you feel as though you know well the minute you meet her. A musician, a teacher, a gardener and a terrific person. Bobbi has been around radio in Northeast Ohio for more than an generation and still loves it!

Brad Schupe

Brad Shupe - High School Play-by-Play - Vacation Fill

Brad is the "Pride of Sugarcreek!" Longtime radio personality and very active in student sports, including coaching and mentoring. Brad is also an important part of the production and imaging at WAKR and all the stations of Rubber City Radio Group.

Chuck Collins

Chuck Collins - mid days 10 - 3

Program Director, Mid Day Host, 1590 WAKR. Chuck began his career in the early 70’s, part of the original cast in a Cleveland radio footnote called M105. He came to Akron in 1988. “After learning the craft, the art and honing the skill some, I wake up everyday knowing that I am one of the luckiest people on the planet: I love what I do! Keeping the flame of 1590 WAKR, a vital and historic Radio Station burning brightly is not a job, it's a privilege. Add to that I get to compile and manage a library of songs we all grew up with, well, just try to drag me out of here.” Chuck is also operations director for Rubber City Radio Group, WAKR/WQMX/WONE.

James Lee

James Lee - 12midnight - 5am

James Lee has a wealth of talent. Not only is he the creative director for Rubber City Radio Group, he is our staff sound man, magician and the glue that holds much of the station together. Known to listeners of 94.9 WQMX as James The Producer, but when most of us are asleep, James Plays Oldies on 1590 WAKR

Rick Allen

Rick Allen - 7pm to mid

It's hard to say when Rick Allen began his career in radio. It is likely that his daycare had a small radio station that he was doing morning drive. Today Rick not only plays Oldies when we don't have sports on WAKR in the evening, but he can be heard on all the radio stations of the Rubber City Radio Group; 97.5 WONE, and 94.9 WQMX. Rick has worked with Chuck and RCRG's Senior Vice President of Operations Nick Anthony since he was 16 years old. Listen to Rick on nights with the Cavs or Tribe are taking the night off.
