Akron Police have arrested a couple who allegedly robbed a Walgreens pharmacy of prescription drugs.
Shortly before 10 Wednesday morning, the Walgreen’s Store, in the 800 block of Brittain Road, was robbed by a man acting as if he had a gun in his pocket. The suspect approached the pharmacy counter, and threatened the employees saying he had a gun and wanted prescription medications. The suspect fled with an unknown amount of Percocet and Ambien pills.
Officers tracked down the suspect and his get-a-way driver at a house in the 900 of Raymond Street. Officers arrested Levert P. Veal, 37, of Oak Park Drive and Taretha H. Legette, 37, of Raymond Street. Veal was charged with aggravated robbery and weapons under disability. Legette was charged with complicity to commit aggravated robbery and possession of drug paraphernalia. They were booked into the Summit County Jail.
Officers recovered a .38 revolver, a crack pipe and the stolen medications.
