Mobile Meth Lab Found In Hartville

Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers discovered a mobile meth lab during a traffic stop in Hartville earlier this week.

News Channel 5 reports law enforcement officials recovered chemicals used to make the drug when two men were pulled over Tuesday around 5pm on Market Avenue for what troopers said was a red light violation.

State troopers say the men tried running away when they signaled for the car to pull over. Both were arrested shortly thereafter.

Authorities said both 29-year-old  Lonnie Morris of Akron, and 29-year-old Charles Copen III of Barberton, had confessed to having the chemicals in the car.

The Hartville Fire Department and Stark County Metro Drug Task Force teamed up to take apart the mobile lab, which was considered to be dangerous.

Both Morris and Copen are currently in the Stark County Jail. If convicted, both men face up to 15 years in prison and a $30,000 fine.
