Akron’s Adam Abraham drove home three runs with three hits on Wednesday afternoon, leading the Aeros to a 9-5 victory over the Bowie Baysox at Canal Park.
Abraham snapped a 5-5 tie with a run-scoring single off Cole McCurry (0-7) in the seventh inning. He later clubbed a two-run double in the eighth, this time off reliever Rob Hinton, to extend the Aeros lead to a more comfortable, 8-5.
Abraham enjoyed his first three-RBI game of the season, and is now tied for the team-lead in RBI with 20.
Bryan Price (2-1) earned the win in relief for the Aeros. He entered the game in the sixth after the Baysox rallied for five runs off Giovanni Soto to tie the game. With runners on the corners and two outs, he fanned Bowie’s Allan de San Miguel to snuff out the rally.
Price worked 2 1/3 innings, allowing just one hit. He walked one and struck out one batter.
The Aeros (31-19) have won the first two games of the series and improved to 19-7 at home.
