AKRON, Ohio – Ellet’s softball team knows how to hit the books, and because of it the Orangemen’s postseason lived to see another day on Monday. With some textbook fielding and two great throws, ninth-seeded Ellet knocked off sixth-seeded Brunswick 5-4 in a Barberton Division I Sectional opener. The play that lifted the Orangemen (9-10) will probably be talked about until the squad squares off with third-seeded Cloverleaf (16-9) on Tuesday afternoon. Down one and with one out in the top of the seventh inning, Brunswick’s Paige Salisbury sent a screaming single to left field that Adrianna Maxwell overplayed into extra bases.
