Authors:MANTUA, Ohio – As a senior leader for the Garrettsville Garfield G-Men Sebastian Neikirk plays a very important role in his baseball team’s success. Thursday night he did just that to help the G-Men defeat the host Crestwood Red Devils, 10-8, in eight innings in a Portage Trail Conference crossover game. Neikirk’s finger prints were all over this victory, from two hits in the first two innings that resulted in two runs, to a relief pitching performance that gave his team a chance to make game-winning plays offensively in the top of the eighth inning. “Sebastian was just huge for us, coming in and closing out and getting the big (hit) too,” Garfield coach Beau Norton said.
