CUYAHOGA FALLS, Ohio -- Woodridge senior point guard She’kiera Brooks had one thought that dominated her mind before Wednesday’s 65-38 win against Southeast. Brooks told herself: “Let’s not lose tonight. Especially on our home floor, we don’t want to drop it and have a loss against a team from our conference.” Brooks had quite a scoring line for Woodridge as the Bulldogs captured their 13th consecutive victory. She had 18 points, eight rebounds, five assists and eight steals. Not bad for a 5-foot-6 guard. The steals and the points for Brooks piled up during a 15-2 run during the first and second quarter that gave Woodridge a 30-13 lead with 5:30 to go in the first half. If you saw the game-day shoot-around or the pre-game warm-up, you’d have thought Brooks would have a poor game. “I had a really bad shoot-around earlier today and a warm-up, so I wasn’t expecting to play good,” Brooks said.
