Indians Sign Free Agent Pitcher

The Cleveland Indians today announced the club has signed free agent LHP CHRIS SEDDON to a Minor League contract with a non-roster invitation to Major League spring training camp.

Seddon, 28, owns a career Minor League record of 93-88 with a 4.64 ERA in 266 games/250 starts (1399.0IP, 1475H, 722ER, 1056K) over 11 seasons since being drafted in the 5th round of the 2001 draft by the Tampa Bay Rays.

He appeared in 21 Major League games with the Florida Marlins in 2007 and in 2010 with the Seattle Mariners. In addition to pitching in 14 games out of the bullpen for the Mariners in 2010, he also went 10-4 w/a 3.39ERA in 18 games/15 starts that season with the Triple-A Tacoma Rainiers (101.0IP, 95H, 38ER) and was selected to play in the Triple-A All-Star Game. He spent the 2011 season in Triple-A Tacoma.
