LONDON (AP) -- NASCAR chairman Brian France says he remains committed to putting the best product on the track, perhaps with an eye toward the rules for the 2013 cars.
France currently has senior vice president Steve O'Donnell repurposing the North Carolina research and development center. His goal is to split the R&D department from the competition department to look at improving the rules package before the 2013 cars debut.
France also says he won't wait to make changes earlier than that. He also understands that some drivers and even some leaders in NASCAR don't think anything needs to be fixed with the racing.
