North Carolina Tops Michigan State In First-Ever 'Carrier Classic' U.S. Navy/Handout/Getty Images(CORONADO, Calif.) -- North Carolina and Michigan State wanted to honor the troops on Veteran's Day, and they did so in grand fashion.

Both teams took part in the first ever Carrier Classic. The game was played on the aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson. The Carl Vinson conducted Osama Bin Laden's burial at sea after being killed by U.S. Navy Seals. President Obama was even in attendance, as he is a huge basketball fan.

Once the game started though it was all North Carolina. Even though the score may not indicate it, the game was never close as number one ranked North Carolina cruised past Michigan State for a 67-55 victory.

"I absolutely loved it," North Carolina Head Coach Roy Williams said. "We had some scary moments. We were worried about the weather from the last week, but it worked and I thought it was great."

All-American Harrison Barnes led the Tar Heels with 17 points and also pulled down five rebounds.
