Tony Firriolo/MLB Photos via Getty Images(CLEVELAND) -- The Miami Marlins demoted All-Star first baseman Gaby Sanchez to Triple-A New Orleans Saturday.
The 28-year-old Sanchez is batting .197 with one home run and 11 RBIs in 36 games this season.
“We don’t think he’s a .190 hitter,” Marlins general manager Michael Hill said. “We think he’s better than he’s showing here. We think he’s pressing. We want to take some of the pressure off him, get him down to Triple A, and get him right.”
Sanchez is a career .263 hitter.
