Chris Graythen/Getty Images(NEW ORLEANS) -- The (1) Kentucky Wildcats (38-2) defeated the (2) Kansas Jayhawks (32-7) 67-59 to win their eighth national championship.

Sophomore guard Doron Lamb scored 22 points for Kentucky and freshman forward Anthony Davis pulled down 16 rebounds and had six blocks.

The Wildcats took a 41-27 lead into halftime behind 16-of-30 shooting from the field.

Senior guard Tyshawn Taylor led the way for Kansas with 19 points while junior forward Thomas Robinson contributed 18 points and 17 rebounds.
