(ORLANDO, Fla.) -- Tiger Woods snapped his 30 month winless streak on Sunday after he won the Arnold Palmer Invitational.
The last time Woods had won an event was on September 13, 2009. He beat Graeme McDowell by five shots to take home the trophy, closing 2-under 70.
"You don't need to win, you want to win," said Woods who won for the seventh time in his career at the Bay Hill course. "I have a desire to win and that's why I enter these events. This week was one of my weeks."
After he nailed his putt on the 18th hole, Woods screamed out, "Yeah!" and hugged his caddie, Joe LaCava.
"This just our progression, we're just kind of headed the same direction," said Woods. "I've gotten better and that's the main thing."
With the win, Woods is now No. 6 in the world, returning to the top 10 for the first time since May 22.
