National Basketball Association(NEW YORK) -- The best center in the NBA wants to take his talents to New Jersey. According to ESPN's Chris Broussard, Orlando Magic center Dwight Howard is prepared to request a trade to the New Jersey Nets.
Representatives for Howard have already told the Nets that Howard prefers to play for them. Howard is a free agent following the upcoming season, and while he has yet to declare he won't resign with Orlando, it is looking more and more obvious by the day he has no intentions of staying with the Magic.
ESPN.com reported last week that the Nets were prepared to make a substantial offer to the Magic to obtain Howard. According to the report, the Nets were prepared to offer the Magic center Brook Lopez, two first round draft picks, and were also willing to take back the contract of forward Hedo Turkgolu, who has 3-years and $34 million left on his contract.
Part of the appeal of joining the Nets would be playing along side all-star point guard Deron Williams, and the team is moving to Brooklyn next season.
