Marlins Reportedly Sign Jose Reyes Patrick McDermott/Getty Images(NEW YORK) -- According to ESPN, former New York Mets shortstop Jose Reyes has signed a six-year deal with the Miami Marlins that will play the All-Star a minimum of $111 million. The deal also includes a seventh-year option, which, if exercised, would pay Reyes $22 million in 2018.

The 28-year-old Reyes is coming off the best season of his nine-year career. Reyes won the National League's batting title after hitting .337 with 181 hits in just 126 games played. He also posted an on-base percentage of .384, stole 39 bases, and scored 101 runs.

This is the second big free agency signing for the Miami (formerly known as Florida) Marlins. Earlier this week the team signed All-Star closer Heath Bell to a three-year contract. ESPN is also reporting that the Marlins will now focus their attention on signing St. Louis Cardinals first baseman Albert Pujols.
