Brett Deering/Getty Images(STILLWATER, Okla.) -- A memorial service was held at Oklahoma State Monday for women's basketball coach Kurt Budke, assistant coach Miranda Serna, and two others who were killed Thursday when their small plane crashed while on a recruiting trip in Arkansas.
Oklahoma Governor Mary Fallin was among those who came to pay their respects.
“Of course this is my alma mater,” Gov. Fallin said. “I also just wanted to lend my support any way I can to the Oklahoma State family, certainly to the families who lost their love ones in this tragedy.”
It's the second time in ten years that tragedy has struck the sports program at Oklahoma State. In January 2001, two members of the Cowboys men's basketball team and eight others were killed when their plane crashed in Colorado.
