AUDIO Wagon Wheel A One-Game Championship 11/3/2009 10:17:44 AM | Joe Jastrzemski, AkronNewsNow.com Kent State is taking a slightly different approach to the Wagon Wheel game which takes place Saturday afternoon at 3:30 at InfoCision Stadium against the University of Akron. advertisement Zips football coach JD Brookhart calls it a 'big game.' He says the team points to this game each and every year. Brookhart calls it 'a source of pride' that the Zips have been able to hang onto the Wagon Wheel for the last two seasons. Kent State head coach Doug Martin has a slightly different opinion. Martin is approaching the game as a 'one-game MAC Championship contest.' Martin says its the same way he has approached every MAC game this year and the team has responded. In the Wagon Wheel era, which covers games played from 1946 to this year, Kent State leads the series 19-18-1.
