  The Medina softball team had the program's best season in 2012, ending with a trip to the state semifinals last Friday at Akron's Firestone Stadium. The Bees (24-5) finished just one game away a state-championship game appearance after a 5-2 loss to eventual state champion North Canton Hoover, which also won the state title a year ago.
