CLEVELAND (AP) -- Browns president Mike Holmgren says general manager Tom Heckert underwent heart surgery last week.

Heckert had surgery at the Cleveland Clinic to repair a blockage. Holmgren said Monday that Heckert wasn't feeling well and went for a checkup, when the blockage was discovered. Holmgren said Heckert, who has been with the Browns since 2010, is recovering well and is expected to be back in his office Tuesday.

Holmgren stressed that Heckert "will be an integral part of the draft process." The Browns have the No. 4 overall pick and three of the top 37 selections in April's draft.

Heckert did not attend the NFL combine in Indianapolis last week, but coach Pat Shurmur said the GM participated in player interviews via his computer form home.
