HUDSON, Ohio – Senior Drew Gardner stood on second base waiting for his opportunity to help his team do what no other team has managed to do this season. Gardner’s Cuyahog Falls teammate Kody Meade then made it happen. Meade ripped a two-out single, and Gardner scored the winning run to give the Black Tigers a 6-5 victory over Hudson in baseball action Wednesday night. Gardner had driven in the tying runs with his double to left field in the top of the seventh to set up Meade’s heroic base hit and hand Hudson (12-1, 5-1 Northeast Ohio Conference) its first loss of the season.
