ERIE, Pa. (AP) -- Gamblers bet nearly identical amounts at Erie and Cleveland slot machines during June, in the first month both casinos were open.
The Erie Times-News ( http://bit.ly/O8r6va ) reports Wednesday that the new Horseshoe Casino Cleveland had bets of $159.6 million on 2,083 slot machines, according to the Ohio Casino Control Commission. The casino opened May 14.
In Erie the Presque Isle Downs & Casino had $159.5 million in bets on 2,066 machines, according to the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board.
