GUYSVILLE, Ohio (AP) -- Authorities have taken a 52-year-old Guysville man into custody after a three-hour standoff at his home.
Athens County Sheriff Patrick Kelly says the man called a crisis center Monday and said he had a weapon. He threatened to force authorities to kill him if they responded.
Kelly says negotiations went on for three hours. At one point, a bean bag was fired at the man's pit bull, which attempted to approach law enforcement officers.
No firearms were found but the man was using a screw driver and railroad spikes as weapons. He is being evaluated.
