COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) -- Officials at a central Ohio community college say a part-time professor has been stabbed on campus and police are searching for a person of interest.

Columbus State Community College spokesman David Wayne says the professor was stabbed in the stomach Monday morning. He was taken to Grant Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

Wayne says the male person of interest is not a student, and officials believe he knew the victim. They also say he was off campus by the time authorities responded.

The stabbing occurred in the first-floor lobby of Davidson Hall, a general building with classes and offices.
