AKRON, Ohio (AP) -- Northeast Ohio is getting a taste of the Pacific Ocean.

The Akron Zoo opened a new exhibit Saturday called "Journey to the Reef" featuring a giant Pacific octopus as the headliner.

The Akron Beacon Journal ( http://bit.ly/Lv0tzn ) reports that the exhibit offers an undersea type experience, with a darkened area and the illusion of being below the surface.

The exhibit has 17 aquariums filled with reef animals, a live coral display and a pool with stingrays waiting to be touched.

A tank of the "moon" variety of jellyfish has been fitted with buttons that allow visitors to change the colors of the transparent creatures.
