HOOKSTOWN, Pa. (AP) -- A brass bell stolen from a western Pennsylvania church has been recovered in Ohio after someone tried to sell it to a recycling business.

The bell taken over the weekend from Frankfort Springs Presbyterian Church in Hookstown, Beaver County was recovered on Monday in East Liverpool, Ohio.

Recycling business owner Gregory Six says he called police when the bell turned up at his facility.

The bell had been stolen from the church about 35 miles northwest of Pittsburgh sometime over the weekend. It's been at church since 1871.

Church secretary Chris Kelly tells the Beaver County Times the congregation was stunned the bell went missing in the first place but he's glad to get it back.

Police say charges are pending against three men.
