PIQUA, Ohio (AP) -- Authorities say search teams have recovered a man's body from the Great Miami River in southwest Ohio.

The body was found Sunday in the river on the south side of Piqua (PIK'-wah) about 25 miles north of Dayton.

Piqua police officer David Short says the river runs behind the man's mobile home. Short says police believe the man went fishing around 1:30 a.m. Sunday.

His girlfriend reported him missing later that morning. Short says the body was recovered before 7 a.m.

The cause of death has not been determined. But Short says police believe alcohol may have been involved.

Police are continuing to investigate.
