CINCINNATI (AP) -- Nationals catcher Wilson Ramos had his right leg buckle while chasing a passed ball and needed help to leave the field.
Ramos hit a solo homer that helped the Nationals take a 2-1 lead into the seventh inning on Saturday night. One of Jordan Zimmermann's pitches deflected off his glove, and the catcher had his leg buckle when he planted to throw after getting the ball. He fell to his back, grabbed his knee and rolled over in pain, staying down for several minutes.
He put little weight on the leg as he was helped off the field. Jesus Flores replaced him.
Ramos had one of the best rookie seasons last year, hitting 15 homers.
