PHOENIX (AP) -- In a story May 8 about a federal civil rights lawsuit against an Arizona sheriff, The Associated Press, relying on information from the US Department of Justice, erroneously reported the outcome of a Justice Department civil rights lawsuit against the Columbus Division of Police. The lawsuit was dismissed in 2002 at the request of DoJ after the city made improvements.
