Authors:AKRON, Ohio -- When a baseball team wins a game 1-0 a head coach often laments his team’s lack of offense, unless of course that coach is a former pitcher. Stow first-year coach Bryan Celik, a former University of Akron and Firestone High pitcher, loved every minute of his team’s 1-0 first-round Division I sectional victory over his alma mater on Wednesday. “I love these pitching duels, this is my kind of game,” said Celik, whose team defeated Firestone (13-12) for the third time this season. Senior starter Dan Garner picked up just his second win of the year but went the distance for the fourth time this season as the Bulldogs improved to 10-14. Copyright 2012 SportsInk.
