CANTON, Ohio (AP) -- Police in northeast Ohio say a man drove his car into the federal building in Canton and ran away from the scene naked before being taken into custody.

Police tell WKYC-TV ( http://on.wkyc.com/K1jzli ) in Cleveland that the 26-year-old North Canton man drove through a security gate and over two curbs before the vehicle hit an entrance to the building early Saturday morning. The facility includes a federal court and other federal offices.

Canton police say the fleeing man was caught quickly and was evaluated at a hospital before being taken to jail. He's expected to face a vandalism charge.

Court records show the man had a hearing scheduled Monday in municipal court because he failed to appear for a competency hearing in an earlier criminal trespassing case.
