AMESVILLE, Ohio (AP) -- Authorities say a recent hip surgery patient using a walker was swept away and drowned in southeast Ohio when rising water stalled her vehicle.
Authorities say 74-year-old Barbara Cantrell of Amesville was swept away just before midnight Friday as she and her husband fled their car stalled in rising water. Her body was found Saturday morning.
Rome Township Fire Department Chief Jeremy Snedden tells The Athens Messenger ( http://bit.ly/J4wvE6 ) that the victim's husband was holding onto her when he stumbled, fell and lost his grip.
