CLEVELAND, Ohio (AP) -- Protesters with Occupy Cleveland remain outside a downtown encampment tent despite the city's orders to leave.

About 20 people are outside a white tent that serves as the group's encampment area, after the city's deadline for protesters to leave expired late Wednesday afternoon. Police are monitoring but no arrests have been made.

City officials recently declined to renew the group's permit to stay. Officials say the decision was not related to a bridge bomb plot that arrested men who had participated in Occupy Cleveland events.

The organization has said the five men charged in the bomb plot didn't represent Occupy Cleveland and were not acting on its behalf.

City officials say the group can still gather at a spot across the street day or night.
