MOBILE, Ala. (AP) -- Former Cleveland Browns general manager Phil Savage is the Senior Bowl's new executive director.
Mobile Arts and Sports Association chairman Angus Cooper Jr. named Savage Tuesday to replace Steve Hale.
The Mobile native most recently served as a player personnel executive with the Philadelphia Eagles. He will continue to work as color analyst for Alabama football broadcasts.
The 47-year-old Savage was the Browns' senior vice president and general manager from 2005-2008. He also worked in the Baltimore Ravens front office for nine years.
Savage will be formally introduced on Wednesday to lead the showcase event for senior NFL prospects.
Cooper says Savage "met every requirement we were looking for in an executive director."
Savage officially takes over on June 1.
