Buckeyes open with Wright State, honor Knight

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) -- Ohio State embarks on coach Thad Matta's eighth season as coach with what is expected to be one of the top teams in the nation when the Buckeyes host Wright State on Nov. 11.

The Buckeyes, who will be led by senior William Buford and sophomore Jared Sullinger, have won each of the last two Big Ten regular-season and tournament titles.

Highlights of the schedule, released Wednesday, include a clash with Duke at Value City Arena on Nov. 29 in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge and a game on Nov. 15 against Florida.

The Buckeyes host Lamar on Dec. 20. Former Army, Indiana and Texas Tech coach Bob Knight, a member of Ohio State's 1960 National Championship squad, will be honored.

The Dec. 22 game against Miami (Ohio) will be played at Nationwide Arena in downtown Columbus.
