Procter & Gamble says its Vicks cold and flu medicine and its SK-II skincare brands have become billion-dollar brands for the world's largest consumer products maker.

The list, now totaling 26 brands, includes labels that make at least $1 billion in annual sales. Always, Charmin, Bounty, Olay, Pampers and Tide are also on the list.

Both Vicks and SK-II have long histories.

Vicks was created in the 1890s by a pharmacist seeking to soothe his son's croup. P&G bought the company that made it in 1985.

SK-II was created in the 1970s by Max Factor Japan. The skin-care line is made with a by-product of the fermentation process for sake, the rice wine. P&G bought Max Factor in 1991.

P&G reports third-quarter results Friday.
