Ohio State beats Michigan 12-9 in lacrosse game

ANN ARBOR, Mich. (AP) -- Logan Schuss scored three goals to help Ohio State beat Michigan 12-9 in a lacrosse game at the Big House.

Hundreds of fans stuck around to watch the matchup Saturday. It was played after the Wolverines' final spring football practice, which drew about 25,000 spectators.

Jesse King and Tyler Frederick each scored two goals for the Buckeyes.

Alex Vasileff led Michigan with three goals, and Trevor Yealy and Brian Greiner each scored twice.

Michigan's lacrosse team made the jump from club level to Division I this year in a sport that is mostly popular on the East Coast.

Michigan became the first Bowl Championship Series program to add men's lacrosse since Notre Dame did it about three decades ago.
