TROTWOOD, Ohio (AP) -- A report says a Dayton police officer is in serious condition after an overnight shooting that also injured a suspect.

Trotwood Police Capt. Erik Wilson tells WHIO-TV in Dayton that investigators are still not clear about who shot whom.

Names have not been released for the suspect or the officer, who is at Miami Valley Hospital.

The shooting happened about 1:30 a.m. Saturday in suburban Trotwood, with numerous officers from surrounding departments responding when the call came of an officer in trouble.
