Polish-Americans set to celebrate Dyngus Day

BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) -- Polish-Americans are marking the day after Easter with annual Dyngus Day celebrations.

In Buffalo, that means parades and pussy willows and a giant party inside its closed Central Terminal train station.

Dyngus Day celebrates the end of the restrictive observance of Lent and the joy of Easter.

Revelers feast and flirt by tapping one another with pussy willows.

The holiday is mostly celebrated in cities with sizable Polish-American populations such as Buffalo, Chicago, Cleveland, Pittsburgh and Elizabeth, N.J.
