COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) -- Vandals have destroyed an Ohio high school's stained-glass window portraying the Virgin Mary.

Principal Marian Hutson tells The Columbus Dispatch (http://bit.ly/Icw5LX ) damage to the window overlooking a stairwell at Bishop Watterson High School is estimated at $39,000. She says the schools mothers' club purchased it after three years of saving.

Surveillance camera footage from early Sunday appears to show three men using a fire hydrant cap to bust the window.

The window was insured, but will takes months to replace. Hutson says it is made by hand.
