BLUE ASH, Ohio (AP) -- Area residents say the impending closure of a regional airport in suburban Cincinnati will take away a source of adventure in their community.

The Cincinnati Enquirer ( http://cin.ci/HcVaXM ) reports the 91-year-old Blue Ash Airport is slated to close in June after three decades of debate between Cincinnati and Blue Ash. The closure will pave the way for new development on the suburban properties.

Businessman and pilot Ted Catino says the airport is an attraction that has drawn adventurous people to the area, and he believes losing it means losing an economic development factor.

Jim Kirby uses the airport to fly his family to visit relatives elsewhere. He says he's holding out hope that his now 3-year-old son will still be able to take flying lessons at the airport when he's older.
