AKRON, Ohio (AP) -- The University of Akron wants to expand programs, faculty, research and campus and community projects by its 150th anniversary in eight years.
University trustees unanimously endorsed the program Wednesday.
It includes a goal of increasing enrollment 30 percent from the current 30,000. Akron wants to expand the number of out-of-state, international and online students.
University President Luis Proenza says the goals include strengthening the academic quality of students and improving the rates by which students stay in school, graduate and get a job.
