CINCINNATI (AP) -- Cincinnati doesn't have streetcars or streetcar stations - but it does have station signs.

The city said it would unveil and post temporary signs Tuesday at station sites along the 3.1-mile initial route planned from downtown north to the Over-the-Rhine neighborhood.

The Cincinnati Enquirer reports ( http://bit.ly/qIWFYQ ) a spokesman for Mayor Mark Mallory declined to say what the signs cost or why they're going up now but promised more would be revealed on Tuesday.

A news release from the city says the signs will be colorful and will include a map showing where all of the stations will be, so people can understand where the line will take them.

Streetcar opponents have placed an issue on the city's fall ballot asking voters to block the $95 million project.
