Mitt Romney Selects Rep. Paul Ryan as VP Running MateScott Olson/Getty Images(NEW YORK) -- Mitt Romney has selected Wisconsin Congressman Paul Ryan as his running mate.
The Romney campaign confirmed the news in a mobile alert to supporters early Saturday:
"Mitt's choice for VP is Paul Ryan. Spread the word about America's Comeback Team. #RomneyRyan2012"
The formal announcement is expected later this morning in Norfolk, Va.
