(NEW YORK) -- The Republican National Committee says it enjoyed its best fundraising month since 2008 in March.
The committee announced a total haul of $13.7 million last month, with $32.7 million cash on hand and $9.9 million of debt.
Starting earlier this month, the RNC is now raising money jointly with Mitt Romney, an offer the RNC says it extended to all GOP presidential candidates. The RNC and Romney will solicit donations through a joint committee that will dole out money to the Romney campaign, the RNC and several state parties, according to the different contribution limits applied to each.
Democrats have been using a similar venture to raise money for President Obama and the Democratic National Committee.
March’s fundraising totals predate the joint venture with Romney.
