North Canton police say an uncooperative shoplifter at a supermarket pulled out a knife while officers were on the way, and threatened at least one store employee.
It happened at the Giant Eagle on Maple Street at just after 4 PM on Saturday.
While police were responding, they say 21 year-old Ronald Keen III of Canton pulled out a pocket knife, then ran through the parking lot.
Police caught up with Keen a short time later in a nearby yard.
He was taken to Mercy Medical Center for treatment after complaining of minor injuries...but he picked up a new felony charge - possession of heroin - after an inventory of his property.
That'll be added to a felony aggravated robbery charge.
Police say two other males were spotted coming into the store with Keen. Their involvement in the incident is under investigation.
