Authorities in Jackson Township are investigating the apparent drowning death of a man at a local hotel pool.
The Canton Repository reports it happened at the Holiday Inn in the 4500 block of Everhard Road NW shortly after 9:00 Monday night. Police say the 26-year-old man is a China native and was at the hotel on business with two colleagues.
Firefighters say paramedics tried to revive the victim at the scene and during the ride to the hospital. Authorities say a Diebold employee pulled the man out of the pool and several bystanders performed CPR on him until paramedics responded.
Police report the victim was "not an avid swimmer" and that his name will not be released pending notification to his family.
