UA Wins Campus Programming Award

The University of Akron is being recognized for offering plenty of stuff for students to do.

Campus Activities Magazine has named the home of Zippy the 2012 Campus Program of the Year.  The programs are aimed at keeping students engaged.  Research suggests that life outside the classroom has a significance that sometimes exceeds academic pursuits.

The university told the magazine that 3 - 5 events are offered every week, in addition to films.

There are two groups in charge of creating and executing the choices.  The Residence Hall Program Board puts things together for students who live on campus.  The ZIPS Programming Network is tasked with bringing comedians, special lectures, music and other entertainment fo the student union to hit a broader range of students.

This is the second year since 2010 that The University of Akron has won the award.
