Stow Meth House Being Demolished

A home in Stow that was found to be a meth lab site is now being torn down.

The Stow Patch is saying the home on Uniondale Drive is finally meeting the wrecking ball after Stow Police and the city's building inspector deemed it uninhabitable in December.

Police made multiple visits to the house after receiving several anonymous tips about the possibility of illegal drug activity going on inside the home.

Officers said they went to the house and witnessed Stephen McKinney and homeowner Lewis Butler, Jr making meth in the garage with a 2-year-old child present in the home in September. Guns were also found on the property. Both men were charged with various drug charges.

Two months later, there was another tip stating that the same home was possibly stealing electricity from a home on the same street.

Ohio Edison officials confirm the power was illegally obtained and that the house and the garage were being used to make the dangerous drug.

In January, police were tipped off to the home yet again when Butler's vehicle directed police to him and 19-year old Angel George, who lived in the home.

Both George and Butler are facing various drug and child endangering charges.
