Akron Police are investigating an incident that took place on the city's east side Wednesday afternoon.
Around 3:00pm, an 81 year old woman living on Concord Avenue in Akron was allegedly robbed of her wallet and knocked to the ground.
The woman told police she was taking her dog out to the back yard when a man entered her house through a rear door.
Akron Police Lieutenant Rick Edwards says when the woman went back into the house she was confronted by the man. He then knocked her down and took her wallet containing various bank cards and one dollar in cash.
As the suspect was leaving the home, he kicked the woman's dog out of the way. The woman and her dog were not injured.
Police describe the suspect as a black male,with short, black hair between 30 – 35 years old, standing 5’10” and weighing 200 pounds.
He was wearing a black t-shirt and dark colored pants at the time of the incident.

Akron Police are investigating an alleged robbery on the city's west side.
Police say around 5:30pm Monday night the Long John Silvers on Romig Road was robbed by two men.
Employees report the pair entered the restaurant, fired shots into the ceiling of the restaurant and demanded money.
One of the suspects then forced the manager into the back room, fired another shot, and demanded money from the safe.
The men then took off with an unreported amount of cash. No employees were injured.
Police describe the robbery suspects as two white males between 25 – 35 years old.
One of the men was 6’0” – 6’02” wearing an orange hunting outfit and a camouflage bandana covering his face. The second individual is around 5’10." Police do not have any further description.
Montville Police are on the lookout for a man who allegedly robbed a supermarket January 13
Police say the man walked into the Aldi Supermarket on Medina Road around 7p.m. just as the shift manager was locking up for the night.
The man was allowed to enter the store where he walked down the first aisle and then ran down the second aisle with his hand under his shirt. It's unknown if the man was concealing a weapon.
Police said the alleged robber grabbed the manager, pushing her towards the registers in the front of the store demanding she open one of them.
The man ended up taking off with $1,100 in cash. after the manager opened the register. He was last seen running westbound towards First Merit Bank in Montville Township.
Police have the suspect described as a white man in his 40's. His face was full of "pock marks" from either acne or chicken pox. He was wearing a long sleeve blue sweatshirt, blue jeans, and a dark blue baseball hat with a yellow or orange emblem on the front during the time of the incident.

Akron Police are searching for a pair of men who allegedly robbed a young man playing basketball at Reservoir Park.
An 18-year old man reported to police he was robbed at gunpoint around 9:30 pm Tuesday night when the men showed up to the park in a small, two door white car and walked over the basketball court with a handgun and took his book bag.
The book bag contained a pair of converse shoes, a Gucci pearl wallet, a cell phone and his ID card. The suspects are two white men between 18 – 23 years old. They were seen in an older white, two-door car.

Police are investigating a robbery that occurred late Monday night at an Akron gas station.
Around 11:00 Monday night, the Marathon on East Avenue was allegedly robbed by a pair of individuals.
The clerk told police two men armed with handguns, entered the store and robbed him of cigarettes and cash. One of the men allegedly took the wallet of the clerk's husband in the parking lot.
Both men took off with an unreported amount of money and cigarettes.
A vague description is given for both men, saying that they are two black males between 5'10'' and 6 feet tall.

Police have arrested two men in connection with a robbery late Wednesday night,
Shortly before midnight, a 21 year old man flagged officers down near the intersection of Johnston Street and South Arlington.
The man reported he was just robbed of his boots by two men on bicycles.While conducting a police report another cruiser spotted the alleged thieves near Champlain Street and Clark Street.
Officers arrested Damon McCraney and James Avent for the alleged incident. They were charged with Robbery and booked into the Summit County Jail
Officers gave the man his boots back.
Two separate robberies in Akron kept police busy through the night Monday.
Around 7 p.m., a 20-year-old woman was robbed as she was walking to her car in a parking lot near the 700 block of Grant Street.
Police say Rande Clark, 19, approached the woman and asked if she knew what time it was. He then pulled out a gun and demanded the woman's purse.
Clark was found a short time later near a home where the purse was found.
He was charged with aggravated robbery and carrying a concealed weapon. He was booked into the Summit County Jail.
Around 11:30 p.m., 22-year-old man was robbed near the intersection of East Buchtel Avenue and Annadale Avenue.
Police say three suspects approached the man from behind and grabbed the victim's backpack which contained laptop computer.
After a brief struggle, the victim let go of his backpack when he heard one the suspects yell for a gun.
Police are still searching for the suspects.
A man wanted in connection with a robbery in a high school parking lot has been arrested.
Officers from the Akron Police Department and the U.S. Marshals Office Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force arrested 32-year-old Joseph Barnhart for allegedly robbing two Hoban High School students last Thursday night while they sat in a car in the school parking lot.
The students said Barnhart approached the car with a bag in his hand, and told them he had a gun. He then ordered the teens to drive him to a drive-thru on South Arlington St where he robbed one of them for $26.00. He then took off from the drive-thru on foot. They then called police
Barnhart was identified and warrants were signed after he was taken into custody around noon today without incident at his job over on Johnston Street.
Barnhart was charged with Aggravated Robbery and booked into the Summit County Jail.
Officers from the Springfield Twp. Police responded to Jubilee Donuts located at 916 Canton Rd., for an armed robbery call. The shop employee stated that a white male approached her and demanded she open the cash drawer. The suspect also told her that he was armed with a gun, although no weapon was seen. The suspect then fled the scene. A police canvass of the area produced a witness and vehicle description. Officers recognized the vehicle description and were able locate the vehicle and its owner. Further investigation and interviews led to the arrests of 28 yr. old Branden L. Willson, 27 yr. old Zachary A. Hutchison, and 24 yr. old Gwen M. Thatcher. All three suspects are currently being held at the Summit County Jail.
U.S. Marshals Office Northern Ohio Violent Task Force arrested a fugitive wanted for robbery and two counts of burglary Tuesday night.
Nicholas Snyder, 20, was arrested on Britain Road and taken into custody following several tips and hours of surveillance.
He was wanted for a home invasion robbery that happened on November 2, 2011 at an apartment on Snowfall Spur in Akron.
Snyder and several other men entered the apartment and robbed the residents at gunpoint.
He was booked into the Summit County Jail.
