Akron police are investigating two separate shootings in Akron Tuesday night.
Police say 70-year-old Gerald Smith entered a home in the 900 block of Gleason Avenue with a gun. Smith shot himself in the arm after he hit the victim with the gun.
Smith was arrested at his home in Tallmadge. He was charged with aggravated burglary and felonious assault.
In a separate incident, News Channel 5 reports a man was shot in the back on Noah Avenue around 10 p.m. Police are still looking for the second suspect.
The victim suffered serious injuries and was taken to Akron General Medical Center.
